This charming dish is now commonly referred to as "Queen Victorias Hands，" although I have found nothing in my research that tells me that is what it was originally marketed as. No matter. Made by Westmoreland of molded milk glass， it is a fun and unusual way to serve candy or a functional trinket dish on your bedroom dresser to hold clips， scrunchies or what-have-you. I have sometimes seen this described as a "soap dish，" but I think its way too big for a single bar of soap and would take up a lot of real estate on your bathroom sink counter. Up to you， though.Milk glass was wildly popular in the latter part of the 19th century. It came into the spotlight again in the 1950s and 60s. There appears to be a resurgence of interest in milk glass yet again in the current era. From SpruceCrafts.com: "First made by Westmoreland in the 1920s， milk glass was the most remarkable and prolific product this company manufactured. In fact， they were one of the top producers of fine quality milk glass in the United States..."
